The Royal Northern & Clyde Yacht Club (RNCYC) and Scottish Student Sailing (SSS) again joined forces for their annual match racing competition, held in the RNCYC’s Sonars at Rhu on Saturday 4th & Sunday 5th October. This event was the 2014 Match Racing Championship for Scottish universities, as well as open competition for the Ceilidh Cup, being awarded to the best overall team, and a Qualifier for the RYA National Match Racing Championship to be held at Queen Mary Sailing Club, Staines, London on 14 – 16 November, 2014.
Theo Hall, with Peter Cameron, William Findlay & Calanach MacDonnell-Finlayson of the University of Strathclyde won the Scottish Student Sailing Match Racing Championship from Connor Simms’ team from Dundee University Sailing Club. Nicole McPherson and her team from Royal Northern & Clyde Yacht Club won the event overall, retaining the Ceilidh Cup.
