Marine Sports Science student at Plymouth University and Finn sailor, Peter McCoy, who claimed the Finn Junior European title at Warnemunde this year (and put in a great performance at the Junior Worlds too), is a member of the British Sailing Team’s Podium Potential Squad.
At last year’s BUCS Fleet Champs, Pete put on a great performance to move up to Silver on the slow handicap podium, playing the shifts and the tide in the lighter wind race, after a dual in the 20+ knot races with three 420s that made the best of their planing capabilities. We hope that, fully roped up, Pete will be able to fit this year’s BUCS Champs into his busy schedule to go for Gold (probably Plymouth’s Commodore will be keen on this plan too! …..BUCS points and Team competition etc. – but Pete likes pressure!).
